Asheville

Pretty dreadful journey Shannon - Asheville. Serious air traffic control problem in whole of midwest due to sabotage by nutter. Meant flight Chicago Asheville cancelled. But only after hours of watxhing later and later,departure times on board. Meant hotel room needed and no reimbursement ( no fault of United ). Bad news. Delta flights next day via Atlanta - big improvement. But got there a day late. 

Betty in quite terrific form. Playing piano 2 hours every day at 92. Wow !

Janey and Tim came up from St Simon's Island and Atlanta respectively - much appreciated.  Good dinner out with them and Betty. Black Mtn next day and called in on old friends Joe & Betty Rand - long time since tennis at Humbie Cottage ! 

Hugely successful trip down to Greenville , SC to meet up for lunch with Martha & Dick who had driven up from Atlanta. Said we had a proposal for them for summer 2015. They said yes before we told them what it was. How's that for enthusiasm!  Hoping they'll join us for section of trans am. Good dinner with Betty at Corner Kitchen.

Back to Snowmass on Thursday. But for 10 days only. Off then to Corvallis, OR to see D, K and O. Will make it a 3 day drive . Hope to see Sarah J at her gas wells in Rock Springs , WY ! Still 2 days from there.

Paris to Ennis to Paris

After the exhilarating experience of getting from Nimes to centre of Paris by TGV in not much over 3 hours , we had an afternoon in Paris before getting 11.30 pm flight from Paris Beauvais to Shannon.

Then a fabulous 5 days with the Ryans and a big thrill to see the grandkids and to witness the long awaited vet practice in operation - literally with close up view of Dennis operating on a young Boxer.

Got to stay in their new house which they've let for a year. Most impressed and perfect location for the time being. And in the middle a most successful day at Lehinch beach only 40 mins away.

Because of the limited Shannon -  Paris flights, we had two nights and a full day sightseeing in Paris to conclude an epic 40th anniversary French reunion and bike tour.
